We are hosted on an Apache cloud server (which has cPanel and WHM) and every Wordpress installation we add has the same issue: when creating/editing posts and pages using the editor, most of the post gets cut off when we save it. I'm able to paste the html of the post in the DB and it'll save but sending it from the editor to the DB is when the truncating happens.
Things we have tried:
- New Wordpress installation
- Removing all plugins
- Changing the template
- Using different editor plugins (other than the built-in one)
- Searching the Wordpress support forums (nothing we found on there helped, but we may have missed something)
- Pasting the text from a plain text editor
Facts about the server:
- It's a VPS
- We use mod_security
- We use CSF
- We have root access
- Our post_max_size in [url removed, login to view] is set at 128M
- We have no problem uploading large zip files through Wordpress. The problem is only with text.
We suspect that the issue is related to the server setup but are not positive, so we would ideally like to find someone who is skilled at both Linux server admin and PHP/Wordpress. If you have experience with this exact problem, that's a huge plus.
If you need more info about our site or setup, please message. Thank you.
