I have revised my project because my needs were not clearly defined and many bidders were confused about exactly what I need. Here are my requirements:
My Current Setup: I have a website ([url removed, login to view]) where I sell forensic videos/DVD’s. I have an AgoraCart shopping cart which accepts credit card orders via www.authorize.net. For each order, I receive an email with customer data. I re-enter the data into a customized MS Access based application which generates a printed invoice and provides reports. For shipping of the product, the same customer data must then be entered into the UPS Worldship application or into the online [url removed, login to view] website or into the online [url removed, login to view] where a shipping label is generated. This system works but is very inefficient.
Here is what I want:
--- A website/shopping cart which will accept orders, process credit cards, and Paypal payments. I want the website to offer varied shipping options and shipping logic (Priority Mail, Next Day, Ground, etc) with UPS, USPS, and FEDEX.
--- This ecommerce website must provide me with a completed invoice that can be printed out to be shipped with the product.
---- I also want to be able to manually input customer data to create invoices (for orders that I receive via FAX, mail, and telephone). The customer data must be stored in the same database file as the website data. I want the manually inputted customer data to be transmitted to the shipping services for shipping charges and for shipping label creation. I want all previous customer data (name, address, etc) to be available to populate the fields.
--- I need to be able to easily generate reports, review old orders, add/delete products, etc.
--- The shopping cart should perform a zipcode lookup to automatically populate the city/state fields.
--- The shopping cart form must retain all field data if there is a mis-entry or incomplete checkout: (The customer should not have to start over with all his data).
1. I am NOT seeking cosmetic design changes. While my look certainly can be improved, that is not what I am seeking. My goal is to have a reliable, efficient, e-commerce system. I don’t know if my current website must be revised and my current shopping cart replaced, I am open to whatever needs to be done to produce a good result.
2. If all my needs can be met (don’t forget the manual creation of invoices) by an online and/or desktop-based HTML based application, then I will accept that solution. If I don’t need my current MS Access application, I will retire it. I will then want all my old customer data to be converted for use in the new system.
3. Providers must have experience in integrating ecommerce websites with UPS Worldship, USPS, and FEDEX as well as [url removed, login to view] and Paypal.
4. I am open to any new ideas or better ways to obtain my goal of having an efficient ecommerce site.
Providers please note that bids are much more attractive if they are INDIVIDUALIZED to the specific bid -- not just cut and paste long lists of technical abilities and past projects. A bid which actually discusses the buyer's SPECIFIC requirements and situation demonstrate an interest and understanding of the buyer's needs and are much more interesting.
