SIMS Game Object/Skins Conversion
The project is a simple one.
WHO MAYBE QUALIFIED: Graphic Designers and programmers (and/or others) may both be qualified.
PROJECT PURPOSE: Creation of software, or modification of existing software, to easily and automatically convert large numbers of existing SIMS 1 objects/designs/creations/skins created for the original SIMS 1 windows version and reconfigure/convert them to work smoothly and properly in the windows version of SIMS 2 and for both the SIMS 1 and SIMS 1 and 2 Mac versions.
PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS: The project consists of adapting or creating software to easily and automatically (and in large numbers):
Convert SIMS 1 OBJECTS into: SIMS 2 windows Objects
SIMS 1 Mac Objects
SIMS 2 Mac Objects
SIMS 1 SKINS into: SIMS 1 & 2 Mac Skins (if possible)
SIMS 1 SKINS into: SIMS 2 Skins windows (if possible)
PROJECT BUDGET: $50.00 to $100.00
It is anticipated that this will be accomplished by taking the existing design programs used to create the SIMS 1 and SIMS 2 objects and skins, for both windows and Mac, and modify or adapt them to process the reconfigurations automatically. However, if this is not feasible then the appropriate software will need to be written.
***IMPORTANT: You must be thoroughly familiar and comfortable with this software so that you can modify or rewrite it or create it afresh as necessary to obtain the purpose and goal of this project.***
Bidders need to be experienced with creating both objects and skins for both stand alone versions - SIMS 1 and SIMS 2 - of the EA/Maxis computer “game” THE SIMS. Both windows versions and Mac versions.
You will need to test your work in the specific version of the SIMS games you convert a SIMS 1 item into in order to make sure they function properly in the new format in the intended SIMS after conversion.
The population of SIMS 1 objects to be converted are in the thousands. Hence, the reason that the design/conversion programs will have to be adapted and modified to do the conversions automatically in a batch manner.
It is my understanding that while objects can be converted from SIMS 1 to SIMS 2, skins CANNOT be converted from SIMS 1 to SIMS 2. If I am WRONG in this then a reconfiguration of skins from SIMS 1 to SIMS 2 (windows and Mac) will also become part of the project.
*You need to clearly state whether or not you believe you can also convert (in the volume and with the ease this project requires) SIMS 1 skins into either/or Mac skins (1 and/or 2) or SIMS 2 windows skins.
*You MUST be thoroughly familiar with SIMS 1 and SIMS 2 and the creation process for both objects and skins – for both windows and Mac.
*You MUST be thoroughly familiar and comfortable with the software used to create windows objects and skins for BOTH SIMS 1 and SIMS 2.
*You should also be thoroughly familiar and comfortable with the software used to create Mac objects and skins for BOTH SIMS 1 and SIMS 2.
*You should also be thoroughly familiar and comfortable with the software currently used to perform item by item conversion from SIMS 1 objects into SIMS 2 objects.
*You MUST be able to PHYSICALLY TEST, and actually do PHYSICALLY TEST, the results of your conversions so that SIMS gamers will have no problems uploading and having the items converted by the software you created or modified work seamlessly in their games.
*You need to be willing to work WITH me and not disappear off line for days.
*Your English language skills must be sufficient so that we don't waste time in repeated communication because of poor English skills.
***Bids without explanation about your experience in these areas will be ignored.***
Pasting me the same message you paste to everyone else (a big bunch of links and a hello) will not get you anywhere.
I will reply to messages from freelancers who actually sat down and typed the message to me, etc
That way at least I know the freelancer is serious and not desperate for the money, going round pasting the same message to people who want jobs done.
This project will also require you to do the following:
1) Produce and deliver complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition (and depending on the nature of the deliverables):
All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer).
