Well-known publisher is seeking developer to implement a robust online map viewer for presenting dozens of map layers to consumer audiences. Map viewer must integrate Esri ArcGIS map services with other geo-enabled content feeds including GeoRSS, Google Maps, Bing Maps, and KML feeds. Map viewer must be configurable for deployment for different topics, geographies, and clients, and be easily embeddable within other websites. Map viewer must be highly usable and performant, and also provide robust layer controls (visibility, transparency, map key, layer descriptions), export/print, end-user data entry, and sharing (permalink, embed, email). Viewer must be iPad friendly supporting touchscreen gestures for zoom and pan. Development will be based on client-provided composites, but map viewer design and CSS skills are highly desirable. There is the potential for long term engagement on this project. Applicants should send CV with client references and links to relevant projects.
