We are migrating our site to the magento platform. In doing so, we have 500 URLS that are indexed with Google that need to have 301 redirects so we do not lose the SEO value on it.
I have a complete list in excel format with the Old URL versus the New URLs.
We found that because there are so many entries, if we edit the htaccess file, it slows the site down significantly.
We needs someone to hardcode the redirects directly inside [url removed, login to view] way, apache can load config once and keep it in memory rather than parsing .htaccess each time a page loads.
To be considered, please explain clearly how you will do the job. Again, we do not want to use the htaccess file to redirect all links as it slows the site down too much.
