In search of someone to create a simple registration and check in tool for weekly use at our church.
Database to store kids and parents info:
I am thinking of a simple DB with the kids name, family name, parent info [phones, address, emails], allergies, bar code number association & class.
Walk to laptop and scan your keychain bar code (from Motorola LS2208 w/ USB connection) or type in last name from a laptop (Windows Vista on a Dell machine)
App pulls up the kids info from the database, auto select the children associated with the family and have the option of a deselecting a child if they are not there for the day.
Print to name tag to DYMO 1752265 LabelWriter 450 Turbo Thermal Label Printer that is connected through USB.
Need to be able to run reports on overall attendance in weekly, monthly, quarterly for each service of the services we have. 1st and 2nd, or in the instance we only have 1 service that week.
Should be able to select a date range and display class with a total count as well as a graph for the given period of time. With an option to also filter down to the class and service time by the various times.
There should also be a simple registration portion to the site, the parents enter their child and parents information, agree to the waiver and then scan in a new bar code that will be provided to them, basically just filling out the fields to populate the database.
Current attendance is about 500 records, would need a way to import this data into the new database from a XLS sheet.
I was thinking the price range would be $500-600 but don't really know if its a very small project or small project. Seems like it shouldn't take someone more than a few hours if they have the right skills.
I was thinking of a Google App Engine program could handle this pretty well as we will have at least 5 laptops connected to scanners and printers to be able to go through the process and all have wifi connectivity.
Timeline is 1 month, end of Oct would be best.
