I record (note down) my personal spending in around 135 categories (tags). I would like to be able to monitor increases and decreases in this spending (each of 135 categories) (1) from week to week and (2) from month to month.
I produce total weekly and total monthly amounts (all in GBP - Pound sterling) where the weeks run from Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 and months run from 1st to the the last day (of course).
I would like to see the % change in amounts spent from X week in the past to the current week; Secondly, I would like a dynamically-generated line graph that shows change in spending for 1 or more category at a time.
There is a hierarchy of categories where, for example, Food and Drink would include sub-categories such as (1) Food (2) Drink (3) Food and Drink bought from Cafes/Restaurants (4) Food that is healthy v. (5) Food that is unhealthy etc... All these categories are pre-defined and as I've said I have amounts spent on each category each week/month (for some categories, for some weeks/months, the amount may be zero).
I would be looking for at least 3 screens: (1) The interface where I enter the amounts for each category the week/month just past (2) Screen showing increases/decreases (3) Line graph with X-axis = time and Y-axis = amounts in £.
The spreadsheet/program should be able to be expanded at a later date to include dozens of other tags/categories I might like to track also.

Sorry to make a couple of final changes - hopefully they won't change your mind about bidding on the project! - what comes below supercedes anything in the original description or in the attachments where there are any conflicts:
There will be a final total of 149 categories (instead of 135).
There will also be 8 ‘virtual’ categories that will be generated by the winning bidder based on the monthly/weekly data I supply. For these 8 - this means developing formulas (e.g. SUM) - each of the 8 formulas will be based on 2 or more (real) (sub-)categories.
Graphing/Charting (dynamic) will only ever be for 18 categories in total (10 ‘real’ and 8 ‘virtual’).
The output (spreadsheet etc) must be as easy-to-use in e.g. 10 years time (with 120 months/520 weeks) of data as in 10 weeks’ time. This is vital.
I will supply the winning bidder with ready-made monthly/weekly totals dating from the start of 2014. These are available now.

You may have different ideas as to how to design this software/spreadsheet- I’d like to hear any ideas.
There's also an updated Budget Tracker Spreadsheet which takes the place of v05-02. It's slightly easier to read but I can't seem to attach it to this description. There are no real changes to the layout of the previous spreadsheet anyway and I've already written up everything else at the start of this edit.
