Hey there freelancers.
I'm looking for someone to help me write a script that I can use to analyze some data over and over.
Basically I have a log file that has 2 columns in it (it actually has more, but we only care about 2 for this project).
The data might look like this:
GROUP | VALUE
Over all we have about 30 groups and maybe 500k values. We'd like to be able to compare groups and see which groups over lap and if so by how much.
Group1 might have values 1, 2, 2, 3, 4, and 5. Group2 might have values 4, 5, 6 and 7.
So from a web interface I'd like to be able to type in group1 vs group2. The output should give me some stats about how those groups compare. It could say:
Group1 has 6 entries, with 5 unique values
Group2 has 4 entries, with 4 unique values
2 of Group2's values are contained in Group1.
I'd also like to be able to do a quick search on a new Group. For example, if I was to enter Group9 maybe the script could try to find which other group it matched up the most with.
In the end, the more data this script can spit out the better.
It's possible that it would be best for us to trigger the script via a command line as well, which I'm ok with too.
I don't really care too much which programming language you use for this project either. I have some background in PHP and Perl so that's why I listed them in this project.
And just letting you all know, I'm continuously looking for long term relations with freelancers. I've hired most of the freelancers I've worked with many times and some now with with me almost exclusively. Maybe that will be your case too after we finish this job.
