In a manufacturing plant, producing hydraulic radial piston motors, we have got 15 different types of motors to go down a single line.
On this line, the basic machines are all the same, however when we change production to a different model of hydraulic motor, we need to change the tooling inserts for certain machines in the production line.
(For example, the bearing size changes for model G going from model E and we need to replace the 200mm breaing press with a 300mm bearing press.)
For each of the 15 different models of motor, there are about 20 variables that can change on the line.
I need you to write a program, perhaps suitable for a cheap IPad for the line, or more likely, a PC program to run on Windows 7, which you can input the current motor model, and the model you would like to change to, and then print off the different tooling variables that need to be changed on the line.
Note: Some models are basically the same, and only need a few things changed, other models are vastly different and need almost everything changed when going from another motor.
I need to check the exact figures of tooling and motor model types.
I can supply all the input data.
Ease of use, and printabilty/readability is essential.
At the minute we need to open up a filing cabinit and pull out the tooling reuirements for each motor, compare this to what we have on the line, and change it over, taking 25 minutes in total. I want to get this down to less than 10 minutes with an easy to read sheet determined and calculated with a computer.
