We sell a range of personalised gift items in the UK that all normally contain a personalised certificate with the recipients name printed onto it.
At present when an order comes in we personalise the certificate in house (printing the name onto the pre-printed certificates) and then sending out with the pack to the customer.
This inhouse personalisation can take time to do, so we would want to simplify the procedure.
All of the certificates etc are pre-number sequenced (so each certificate has a unique number). We would like to send out the whole pack with the pre-sequenced certificate in (but obviously not personalised)
When the customer receives it we would want them to be able to log onto the Internet and visit a website we set up. From this website they would be able to choose which certificate they have, enter their unique number and type in their chosen personalisation name.
The application would then store the certificate type, unique reference number and chosen personalisation name in a database and generate a PDF style page with the personalised name on.
The position, size and typeface on each style page generated would be dependant on the certificate chosen (all to be preset in formats).
The customer can then print directly onto their certificate using their home computer; using the PDF style generated sheet that would on their screen. They must have the option to save this sheet to their hard-drive so they can print onto their certificate whenever they want.
Any ideas or thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated
