We are using ActiveReports for our reporting product that is written in Visual Basic and are struggling with how to present variable data on the same detail panel.
In the database we have Primary rows, whose OBJ_ID fields match their GROUP_ID fields.
All Secondary rows linked to the Primary rows have a GROUP_ID field equal to the OBJ_ID field of the Primary row. There could be zero, one, or many of these Secondary rows.
What we need displayed is the Primary row, followed by all Secondary rows, followed by the next Primary row and its Secondary rows, etc.
Primary Row 1
Secondary Row 1
Secondary Row 2
Secondary Row 3
Primary Row 2
Secondary Row 1
Primary Row 3
Primary Row 4
Secondary Row 1
Secondary Row 2
Now, the Primary rows and Secondary rows can have separate extended attribute information, which corresponds to the EA_1 through EA_25 and EA_NAME_1 through EA_NAME_25 fields.
This differing information needs to be displayed in the Primary Row area, shown in the above diagram as “Primary Row X??, as well as in the Secondary Row area, shown in the above diagram as “Secondary Row X??.
I'd like for you to come up with an approach and build a sample database based on the scenario above and a sample report that satisfies the conditions above and demonstrates the approach.
it must be well commented.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working ActiveReports Pro 2.0 report running on an access database with code commented fully enough to understand logic and procedures.
2) No third party libraries, tools (Other then ActiveReports).
