We need a turnkey knowledge database solution that we can install on an intranet and manage ourselves. (installation will be on a xampp or just apache installation)
The KDB needs to be able to link to EXCEL documents, MySQL and ACCESS DATABASES.
The KDB needs to be able to handle any kind of uploads (excel, word, text, jpeg, png, mov, avi, rocks and sticks if we decide to upload them)
It needs to allow for advanced text formatting (text colors, typeface, paragrapghs and rulers)
SEARCHABILITY - it needs to be highly searchable, if possible search within excel and word files. If not possible, need to search by word, syntax or combination of keywords.
The interface needs to be pleasant and user friendly. No "sacrifice a chicken and dance naked under the moon to be able to submit an article" kind of thing.
Pulling stats as of users logged and times articles have been viewed would be desirable.
It needs to be fast for searching through thousands of records.
PS: Will not pay for a freeware solution that has been altered. MediaWiki is darn slow and PHPmyFAQ is very limited just like all the free solutions we have tried and diid not work for us.
