I would like to start this project tomorrow (Monday). I am up for a Skype meeting at 08:30 Swedish time (CET+1)
The new magento site is up at: [url removed, login to view]
The current setup for the website:
The site is hosted on Microsoft Azure. A webserver and MySQL-database is up and running. On top of this is the Magento Community Edition installed and a Skin/Theme is used for front-end components. More information about the skin is available at: [url removed, login to view]
(Take a look at the different views of the Theme) A lot of components can probably be reused.
The theme comes with 6 different sub-themes. It is not clear if you can mix the components from each subtheme or not.
The Theme’s admin panel does not load the current CSS-files, which means that if the CSS-files are changed and uploaded by FTP and settings get changed from the admin panel – the whole CSS-files with its changes will get overwritten.
There is a User Guide for the Theme which describes how the widgets can be used.
Jquery Masonry is installed and can be used for widgets.
The user guide has this information: “Creating a subtheme is a correct way of customization our theme. It allows you to update our theme to the latest version with ease. All you need is just upload newest version of the theme, implement changes in overridden files in your own subtheme. You can create as many subthemes as you want. You can create specific subthemes for categories or cms pages, etc.”
Our interpretation of the text above is that this task requires a new sub-theme in order to not override all the CSS-files when Magento or BIZARRE theme needs to be updated.
To build the “Store” site with the same layout as: [url removed, login to view]
We have too little experience in web design in order to know what the best strategy is. However, we want the store page to behave like Larsson and Jennings website, which means that the items are responsive.
