I run an online web design and development business and I am having a little trouble with my pricing as I'm not sure what any competitors are charging. I need someone to research extensively competition in my city and cities nearby and to produce a report with information that I can use to set my pricing. The report will include example items below (as well as other important information and common items):
Landing page design
Business card design
Website design (simple site + how much extra per page)
Website design (social network)
Website design (auction eBay type website)
Website design (e-commerce stores i.e. Magento, OSCommerce, etc.)
Website design (custom website with extensive programming)
Website design (Wordpress website)
Basic mobile website design
Basic mobile app design
Other items that you can think of that are common
Each of the above will have 5 fields. The lowest price you found, the highest price you found, the average price, a price you recommend for my business based on my work, and an example of how long each item should take in terms of work completion.
I would also appreciate a list of the price each competitor is charging and how you would rate the quality of their work (by looking at their portfolio, website, etc.).
I also need some way to figure out pricing on projects that aren't listed above so your thoughts and experience on that would be great taking all your research into account.
I would also like other information, anything you can think of that would help me get a competitive edge (i.e. am I missing something on my website or could I be doing something I'm now, how do competitors handle jobs - do they pass them on to a designer or use a project manager, could I do anything better, etc.)
The goal is that by the end of reading your report I will have a very good idea what my competitors are charging, what kind of work people are getting for how much they pay them, where my business work quality stands and how much I can charge for each item while making the most possible but still keeping a competitive advantage so that people will choose me over others. I should also have a good idea of how to improve my business.
