I need a programmer experienced with WordPress to modify an existing widget that I use so that it will modify the WordPress dashboard to display content that I will provide, as well as continue performing it's intended task.
The current widget takes a XML feed and displays it in the sidebar. The feed is of a list of products. I need for this widget to modify the WordPress dashboard as described above when it gets installed. You can see the widget in action by going here: [url removed, login to view]
The modification should look like and function as in the following image:
[url removed, login to view]
I would like for the dashboard to pull the content from a text file that will be hosted on a local or remote server. The text file will have preformatted content coded in HTML in it, and should be displayed in the dashboard. An XML feed might work better, but I can discuss that with the successful bidder... Although, I would prefer a text file with the content coded in HTML.
So to recap... I have an existing widget that performs a certain function. I need that widget to be rewritten so that it ALSO modifies the WordPress dashboard, upon installation, to display HTML content from a text file that will be hosted either locally or remotely.
Dear clickpimpsta, this is quite straightforward to add to your existing plugin. It doesn't matter whether your file resides locally or remotely. Using a preformatted HTML excerpt would be easiest. Sincerely, Daha Fazla
