Google API search

I need a php script written that will search google with a value from one column of a mysql database. The script needs to pull the value from a column I specify. Once the search is completed , the number of results has to be added to another column in the same DB. I want to be able to just enter in the db connection specifics, the column that will supply the value to be searched, and the column that wll have the number of results added to it and have it do the rest.I will also need to be able to enter in my google dev key. This project needs to be done ASAP and I simply dont know the google API at all. No interface is needed as long as I can enter in my connection details easily in the php source. Thanks, M
