I want to make a module for Magento 1.X to set discount when customer in Category A selected a product. whwn customer select product in category B. which have a discount for item of category B only. For example, Customer select product(X) $4 in category A. who select product(Y) $10 in Category B If I set 30% off discount So I want the result in cart is product(X) $4 product (Y) $7 Can it work?

Hi, I am magento certified developer with Developer plus certification, having 7.5+ years of working experience in web development. I have gone through your requirement, and here is my observation. You like to give discount to all customers based on category products, and if there are multiple products with different category discount applies to that particular product only. I have few queries, 1.) If product is in multiple category and one category have discount and other not what would happen to such case 2.) Should we display discounted price on listing and product page? 3.) Should discount apply automatic to all such products? 4.) Discount applies for all customers?
