I have a bug on my site that I believe can be fixed by modifying the htaccess file, but I'm not sure. I've attached the file so you can decide if it is something you can fix. Here is the symptom:
Click on a few of the states from the image map on this site:
[url removed, login to view]
Notice the URL structure and that the several text elements of the page itself match the URL. So for example, the page that this URL: [url removed, login to view] serves up includes text like "Montana No-Kill Animal Shelters". It works perfect for all states except for Kansas. Going to the URL for Kansas ([url removed, login to view]) displays text for Arkansas - perhaps because of the htaccess file? The letters "kansas" are part of the word "arkansas", so it is displaying "arkansas" everywhere the page should be displaying "Kansas". You can try this out for other states by modifying the URL to include letters that exist in the state name - you'll see that it display's the state's information even though it's not a valid URL. For example, the URL [url removed, login to view] will display page content for Arizona.
I believe that the reason is because of the way that mod_rewrite is written in the htaccess file. Take a look at the attached file and if you think you can solve the problem, please submit your bid. If you think it is a problem in the php code itself, please adjust your bid accordingly. I would hope that this is a small fix that could be done quickly. Thank you for your interest!
