My problem is this:
I start a dutch auction with the Quantity of lets say 1000 items.
(dutch basicly means that you can offer more than 1 item in a auction)
I then login with another user, give a bid on 1000items, and the price $100 .
Next i login with another user, give another bid on kets say 200 items, and the price $200, the page freezes, and nothing gets registered, this happens all the time.
I've contacted phpprobid earlier, many times, but they say that it isnt a bug, and no one else has this problem, which makes me more confused.
A short msg from the phpprobid admins;
First:
That was the problem; the SQL query has cleared the stalled bids.
( I got a code to enter in the phpmyadmin, which cleared some rows)
Stalled bids can occur for several reasons, the most likely is a server lag, this could even be 1 second or so but if it occurs during the placement of a bid the bid_in_progress field will not be cleared and therefore the script will act as though a bid has been placed. Another is when two or more bidders bid at exactly the same time (we are talking seconds) but this isn't the case in this instance looking at the times.
Naturally this is typically a rare occurrence assuming the server is stable.
Second:
Everything is working, there is nothing that needs fixing. we have explained why this occurred and as you can appreciate it's extremely rare that this can occur purely because the circumstances are extremely obscure.
So, please, anyone experienced with phpprobid and want to help me fix this bug!?.
Payment will be done thru paypal as soon as the bug is fixed.
