Emoji Issue with Events Manager plugin
Budget is £30
I am using the Event Manager plugin, version 5.6.4. it has an issue with emojis that was fixed in later versions. I cannot upgrade due to customization work, so need the fix identified and implemented in my version.
If Emojis are entered when creating an event, the event does not get created correctly.
There is an error message and the event get partly created.
The user doesn’t understand the error message or what causes the issue, so they keep clicking the submit button, but this just keeps showing the error and creating the partly created events.
Later versions of the plugin fix this issue.
I need the fix identified and implemented on my version. I cannot upgrade my version as it has been HEAVILY customized, and all those changes will be lost.
Version 5.6.6 says it had an emoji fix included ([url removed, login to view]
‘fixed syncing of tables when WP uses utf8mb4 collation which causes errors when saving emojis in post content').
I have upgraded to the latest version of the plugin on a staging copy and the emoji issue is FIXED. So there is a fix that just needs identifying and implementing on my version.
Please see the attached documentation showing the error and more details. I have a staging copy you will be able to use for development, and another copy with the latest version of the plugin, so you can see it working ok.
