The key design decision is to expose a stable reporting model through OData rather than exposing the operational PostgreSQL schema directly. I would build an OData V4 service over purpose-designed PostgreSQL reporting views, with server-enforced customer isolation, OAuth2 authentication and controlled query capabilities. Filters, selections, sorting, paging and approved expansions would remain flexible for reporting clients, while query limits, timeouts and indexing prevent expensive requests from degrading the platform.
