I want to build a device that uses a thermocouple to measure temperature of a machine. When the machine is on, and it is generating heat, i want my device to detect the temperature and then close a circuit thus activating an hour counting device. The idea is to have a device that can do this without any electrical contact with the machine it must measure.
The hour counting component is readily available. It's the temperature sensing part and the PCB that I do not know how to handle.
The device will need a power supply that I would like to reside inside of the enclosure. The temperature that it senses will need to be adjustable.
The thermocouple will connect via some sort of port on the outside of the enclosure. I would like my device to be able to utilize various types of thermocouples.
