Consider health promotion efforts. [login to view URL] evaluate the role nurses, with the assistance of the multi-disciplinary team (allied health care professionals, medical professionals and Indigenous Health Care Workers or the equivalent), have in helping to promote awareness and education among the population about the condition. Undertake this for both Australia and the chosen international country. [login to view URL], an improvement to be made to Australia or the international country’s health promotion or public health solution, of the communicable or non-communicable disease. This should include rationale of which country has better addressed the issue. Include the role nurses play in improving the health outcomes and reduce the morbidity and mortality rates caused by the condition among the population. Case Scenarios (Choose ONE of the following): Case Study 1. Tobacco is heavily taxed in Australia. There has been a series of deliberate increases in taxes, by governments, over the last 2 decades, to deter people from smoking. Smoking costs people their lives and it costs the public in paying for their medical aide when they develop cancer. By contrast, some countries in the world have very high rates of smoking. OR Case Study 2. Bowel cancer is a preventable non-communicable disease and is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality from cancer among Australians. Governments have implemented policies and programmes in response to reduce unnecessary and avoidable cases of bowel cancer. Despite having such measures in place, the rates of bowel cancer are increasing world-wide, with many countries requiring new ideas for educating the population on how to prevent bowel cancer. OR Case Study 3. Countries worldwide have experienced unprecedented flooding that has led to the disruption of way of life for the population directly affected by the floods. For many people, their livelihoods and way of life is closely connected to the natural environment. The flooding has wiped out suitable food sources and the water is no longer safe to drink, families are advised to re-locate to a safer area. Water-borne diseases, such as, cryptosporidiosis and giardia, have appeared that had previously been eradicated or are not an ongoing public health issue. The people affected have lived in the area for many generations and do not see the urgency to leave the affected areas, leading to the Government to issue a public health emergency. Collaboration with others is not appropriate in this assessment, and measures are in place to identify this. Write this task in your own words, referencing relevant ideas as appropriate. These measures support transparency of your assessment process and ensure assessment fairness for all students by assisting us to verify originality and authorship.
