I am looking for someone who can implement three simple tasks/examples of getting information from Bloomberg using exclusively Python 2.7 tools. Please provide links to any non-standard Python libraries required for the implementation.
In order to be able to complete the project, you need access to Bloomberg. It should be a simple project for an experienced Bloomberg-Python developer because the tasks are very basic.
================ TASK 1 ================
Write daily closing prices (px_last) for 2012 of MSFT US Equity into a text file.
The code should illustrate the basic syntax of using Python to do what can be easily implemented in Excel using built-in Bloomberg Excel Wizards.
================ TASK 2 ================
Take a snapshot of the page "BBDP 1758848", extract the number of "Hits today", and write the number into a text file.
The code should illustrate the basic tools of navigation in Bloomberg using Python, snapshot tools, and effectively parsing for information.
================ TASK 3 ================
Automatize the following manual steps.
1). Go to "ECO US"
2). Export --> Excel
3). Dates: "April 1, 2013" to "April 30, 2013"
4). Save the spreadsheet in a pre-specified location on a hard-drive
So the objective of the code is to retrieve the calendar of events for a certain country for a certain period of time and save it in excel format in a pre-specified location locally.
Bloomberg access cannot be shared so please make sure that you indeed have access to Bloomberg and that you have experience in similar exercises.
