Here's the code: [url removed, login to view] and here is some description of what it does: [url removed, login to view] . The assigment is to port it to Python 3 with clean unicode support. Invocation and behavior should remain identical.
Although it is Perl :-), the code is object-oriented, and the class hierarchy should translate 1:1 into Python 3. So this is more a syntax-level / library-level porting exercise, and substantial refactoring should not be required.
The only slightly tricky part is that some of the subclasses (all of the classes defined in subdirectories of [url removed, login to view]) are dynamically discovered, so additional "commands", "scaffolds" and "test plans" can be added simply by adding files into the suitable directories, and no code changes are required. I assume a similar mechanism can be implemented in Python.
There's a dependency on little bit of logging and utility functionality defined in this package here: [url removed, login to view] . The functionality there that webapptest depends on (but not the rest) needs to be ported as well.
