1. Understanding the data:
a. What does one row/record of the data represent?
b. How many columns are there and (in your own words) briefly describe the information it stores?
2. For this dataset, how many columns are:
a. Integer type?
b. String type?
c. Float type?
d. Boolean?
3. What is the cardinality for the columns:
a. ethnicity?
b. score?
c. education?
4. Which columns should be formatted as Boolean type but are not? Explain why they are not.
5. How many missing values are there per field?
6. How many total values are there for each unique value of the following columns:
a. gender
b. home
c. fcollege
d. mcollege
7. Use the groupby function to answer the following questions:
a. There are two columns that capture if the mother or father was a college graduate. Find the number of students that had every possible combination. (i.e. both parents were college graduates, only the mother, only the father, or neither were college graduates)
b. For each possible “home” response, what is the average distance?
c. For each possible “region” and “home”, what is the average tuition?
d. For each possible “income” level, what is the average wage?
8. Comparisons
a. How many students lived more than 10 miles from the 4-year college?
b. How many students lived less than 10 miles from the 4-year college and family had “low” income?
c. How many students had both parents graduate from college and had high income levels?
