I am in the process of selling an unoccupied residential property in France and need a French-qualified lawyer to help with the full sale contract (Compromis de Vente / Acte de Vente). The notary, who is acting for both parties, has already prepared a draft Promesse unilatérale de vente, not a normal Compromis de vente, and I am not happy with it. The document is due to be signed by way of a Power of Attorney on Tuesday 26 May 2026, but I want to arrange a delay until I am happy with the document. The task covers: • Reviewing and advising on the situation, and drafting a complete, compliant Compromis de Vente ready for signature by buyer and seller; • Incorporating all mandatory French clauses, diagnostics, and local notarial requirements; the preliminary diagnostic report has been received and I am waiting for the full report; • Two rounds of revisions after buyer’s review; • Guidance on the signing sequence so that the notaire can proceed without delay.
