We have a maya file which we output to collada dae and imported to pv3d, however the results were not very good.
somehow the textures goes weird and are doublesided etc.
we need someone who has maya and knows pv3d to help us export the maya file, optimise the export and import into pv3d.
this should be a quick job.
I'm currently working on a project where we put 3d models into a flash game using Papervision and collada, so it's quite possible, that I'm familiar with your problem. I think I can help
