I have attached power point slides in which I expect to be used as it entails a lot of good and relevant information needed to complete the essay. I have also attached a word document which includes sites in which information can be taken from as well, I expect these to be used however I expect other research to be conducted and information from other sources to be included.

EXAMPLE OF STRUCTURE:
Introduction – to include STRONG definition of short term absence and why it is important to manage it
Current context – what are the patterns of absence over the past few years? (include days lost, cost of absence and sector in which absence higher – private public, retail catering etc.)
Explain the causes of absence and integrate reference to the Steers and Rhodes model which focuses on two aspects - the ability to attend and the motivation to attend. And also any other models explaining why employees might be absent from work. (please use the Psychological Contract, power point slide is also provided for this. Slide 17)
Critically review the three different ways of managing absence – rewarding attendance, punitive approach and preventative approach providing company examples of each. Ensure that for each approach that you discuss the benefits and challenges for each using evidence based research
From your analysis draw some conclusions about which would be the most effective approach to manage absence and why.
Above I have provided a basic essay structure, please make sure additional information is added to strengthen this essay.
