the task is to prepare a research proposal and conduct a qualitative interview to answer a research aim / question based on one of the Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Plan priority areas:
Healthier eating and active living
Reducing harmful alcohol and drug use
Improving mental health
Preventing violence and injury
Improving sexual and reproductive health
You are required to do the following:
Develop an answerable research aim OR question based on the existing evidence relevant to the priority selected.
Note, while this means you will need to conduct a review of the literature you are not required to include the review of the literature in your research proposal.
Select and justify a qualitative study design to answer your research aim OR question.
Identify, describe and justify your study sample (including sample size and eligibility criteria), the sampling method and recruitment strategy.
Identify, describe and justify an appropriate data collection method.
Design a topic guide (and prompts / probes as relevant) that is appropriate to your selected study design and research aim OR question.
Conduct and audio-record a qualitative interview (your interview must be a minimum of 10 minutes but no more than 20 minutes in duration).
Develop an analysis plan.
Reflect on the interview.
Prepare a Plain Language Statement and Consent Form.
