I want to build a Neuro-Symbolic AI–based Pune Traffic Control and Navigation System. This means: There will be AI models to answer queries. Along with that, there will be rule-based logic also. For example: Vehicles must not go the wrong way. Heavy containers should not enter certain roads. If someone starts from any location and goes to any destination, the system should know why a particular route is chosen. The system should decide the route based on vehicle type and traffic conditions, and the user should clearly understand the reason behind the chosen route. The user should be able to select start location and destination through an API, just like Google Maps. And the system should show side explanations for every decision, saying why that specific road/route was chosen, in simple language. This should be done using maps and traffic data. Rule and policy engine • Encode rules such as “no wrong way,” “no heavy containers on these roads,” “no entry after 9 pm,” as editable configs. • Run a constraint checker that filters candidate paths by vehicle type, time, and city rules before scoring them. Neuro symbolic routing AI • Combine classical routing (Dijkstra/A*) with a learned cost model that tunes edge weights using past traffic patterns. • Add an AI explainer that translates graph and rules into notes like “Avoided FC Road because containers are restricted at this hour.” API and UX • REST API to select start, destination, and vehicle type similar to Google Maps. • Response returns route geometry, ETA, and a side explanation list that justifies each key decision.
