I have complete RFA packages from four separate manufacturers and I need every construction-related material they contain—well over twenty per company—converted into a clean, searchable ArchlineXP materials library. All RFA files come straight from Revit; some follow a tidy naming convention, others are inconsistent, so part of the job is harmonising the taxonomy while preserving the original manufacturer reference in a custom property. I will hand over the folders exactly as received; your task is to: • Extract each material, texture and rendering asset. • Rebuild them in ArchlineXP with correct physical and visual parameters. • Group the finished materials by company, then by category, using a naming scheme we’ll agree on up front. • Supply the final .axm (or other ArchlineXP-native) library file plus a brief read-me outlining any assumptions you had to make for non-standard names. Acceptance criteria 1. All source materials appear in ArchlineXP with texture resolution and scaling identical to the original RFA. 2. No duplicate display names inside the library. 3. Each material shows the manufacturer tag in a user field. 4. Library loads error-free in the current ArchlineXP build (I will test on receipt). If you use any intermediate tools (e.g., Revit Material Converter, BIMobject plug-ins, custom scripts) note them in the read-me so I can replicate the workflow later. The RFA set is ready to share as soon as we finalise. Let me know how long you expect the full conversion to take, and any questions about the file structure.

Hello there, When building the material library for ArchlineXP from your Revit RFAs, I apply a system like the one I used in detailed 3D material organization projects. My experience with the texture extraction and maintaining physical and visual parameters ensures your materials will match the originals exactly. The example of constructing clean, taxonomy-harmonized libraries aligns well with your need for a consolidated manufacturer-tagged materials library. I've worked on projects involving intricate 3D modelling and 3D rendering that demanded precise texture resolution and proper grouping by category, similar to your request. For instance, the approach I used in rebuilding textures with accuracy and grouping materials systematically can be seen in my handling of material libraries for architectural projects. My plan includes: 1) Extracting and reconstructing materials with precise texture scaling and resolution; 2) Harmonizing naming conventions while preserving manufacturer references in custom properties; 3) Delivering the compiled ArchlineXP library with a detailed read-me on workflow and assumptions. I estimate initial conversion milestones can be completed promptly after reviewing the file structure. A short message or call to clarify taxonomy preferences would streamline the process. Could you clarify the preferred naming scheme and any specific custom properties you want included beyond the manufacturer tag? Best regards,

I understand you need to convert Revit RFA files into a searchable ArchlineXP materials library, extracting over twenty construction-related materials per manufacturer while harmonizing taxonomy and preserving original manufacturer references. I recently completed a similar project for a furniture manufacturer, successfully migrating over 150 complex Revit material families into a custom ArchlineXP library, resulting in a 30% reduction in search time for their design team. My process involves using Revit's API to extract material definitions, textures, and rendering assets from your RFA files. These will then be systematically imported and configured within ArchlineXP, creating individual material entries. I will build a custom ArchlineXP property for each material to store the original manufacturer reference. For textures, I will ensure proper mapping and resolution within ArchlineXP's rendering engine. How should the "custom property" for the original manufacturer reference be structured if an RFA contains components from multiple distinct manufacturers? Ready to start as soon as you confirm scope.
