Hi, I design multi-tenant SaaS platforms, and for a retail management system the thing I'd get right before any screen is the ledger underneath it. Inventory, billing, profit and loss, credit (udhaar) and supplier payments are really one set of linked transactions: every sale reduces stock, records the cost of the goods sold, and either settles in cash/UPI/card or creates a receivable. If those are designed as one consistent data model from day one, the profit reports and cash-flow numbers are always right; if each module keeps its own numbers, they drift apart within weeks. Your list is a full product, so given the budget I'd propose a first phase that already makes the shop usable every day: products with categories, SKU and barcode, stock-in/stock-out with low-stock alerts, GST billing with barcode scanning, discounts, returns and multiple payment methods, printable/shareable invoices, customer credit tracking, and daily/monthly sales and profit reports. Supplier management, expenses, cash-flow tracking and the remaining reports would follow in phase two on the same foundation. I'd build it as a web app (Python/FastAPI or Django, PostgreSQL) that works on desktop and mobile browsers, with role-based logins for owner and staff. About two weeks is realistic for phase one. Will it be used by a single shop for now, or should it support several branches from the start?
