I need to move a large group of pages to new URLs and preserve all SEO value with proper 301 (permanent) redirects. At this stage I do not yet have a complete mapping, so I will rely on you to audit the site, identify every outdated link, and pair it with its new destination before putting the redirects in place. PAGES CAN BE SEEN HERE [login to view URL] Most of the work will sit in two phases: • Discovery & mapping – crawl the site (Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, or a similar tool), export every legacy URL, match it to its new location, and flag anything that has no clear equivalent so I can decide what to do. • Deployment & testing – once the mapping is approved, write the redirect rules in the most appropriate layer for the stack (.htaccess or NGINX config are both fine), push them live, then verify with a second crawl that every old URL now resolves to the right new one with a 301 status and no redirect chains. Deliverables 1. Spreadsheet containing the full old-to-new URL map. 2. Clean, commented redirect file ready for production. 3. Post-implementation report showing zero 404s and all redirects returning HTTP 301. Acceptance criteria • Every legacy URL reaches the intended page with a single 301 hop. • No unintended loops or soft 404s. • Google Search Console and a crawl report confirm a clean redirect landscape. I POSTED THIS INTO AI AND IT GAVE THE ADVICE BELOW I can now see the sitemap properly and this confirms: you have a massive number of area pages many are far outside your real operating area there are hundreds of redirects needed KEEP All pages in: Lancashire Ribble Valley Pendle Blackburn/Hyndburn Preston/Chorley Fylde Coast Lancaster/Morecambe Cumbria/South Lakes West Yorkshire fringe REDIRECT RULES Rule 1 — London URLs Redirect ALL London area pages to: /hog-roast-lancashire/ Rule 2 — Wales URLs Redirect ALL Wales area pages to: /hog-roast-lancashire/ Rule 3 — Scotland URLs Redirect ALL Scotland pages to: /hog-roast-cumbria/ Rule 4 — North East URLs Redirect ALL North East pages to: /hog-roast-yorkshire/ Rule 5 — Midlands URLs Redirect ALL Midlands pages to: /hog-roast-yorkshire/ Rule 6 — South England URLs Redirect ALL South England pages to: /hog-roast-lancashire/ Small Village Consolidation Examples: Galgate → Lancaster Catforth → Preston Bolton-le-Sands → Carnforth Fence → Colne Rimington → Clitheroe Wiswell → Clitheroe Mellor Brook → Blackburn Simonstone → Burnley Honestly, with the sheer number of URLs, your SEO person should probably: export all URLs from sitemap categorise by county bulk redirect by region rather than manually processing hundreds individually. That’s the normal enterprise-style cleanup approach for a site this size.

Hi, Your AI analysis is directionally correct: this is no longer a simple redirect task — it’s a large-scale URL consolidation and crawl-efficiency cleanup project. With this many geo-pages, manually redirecting one-by-one would create unnecessary complexity and future maintenance issues. I reviewed the sitemap structure at Classic Hog Roast Catering Sitemap and the right approach is: Recommended Strategy 1. Full URL Classification Using Screaming Frog/Sitebulb: • export all indexed URLs • group by: – county – region – traffic/value – backlink equity – indexed status This identifies: • pages worth preserving • pages suitable for regional consolidation • pages that should return 410 instead of forced redirects 2. Controlled Regional Consolidation Your proposed logic is broadly sensible: • London → Lancashire hub • Scotland → Cumbria hub • Midlands/North East → Yorkshire hub BUT: I would first validate: • backlinks • organic traffic • keyword rankings • internal-link dependency before bulk regional redirects are applied. Some pages may deserve: • dedicated retained landing pages • cluster consolidation • canonicalization instead of redirects 3. Redirect Architecture Priority: • single-hop 301s only • zero chains/loops • preserve topical relevance as much as possible Implementation: • Apache (.htaccess) or NGINX rules • regex/grouped redirects where safe • documented rollback capability Thanks, Saurabh Pandey

I can handle this full SEO migration properly, from URL discovery and mapping through deployment and validation, without risking unnecessary ranking loss. The AI advice is directionally useful for grouping, but for a real SEO-safe migration I would still validate the sitemap, crawl the site fully, classify URLs by relevance, and avoid overly broad redirects that could create soft 404 signals or dilute topical relevance. For a site of this size, the right approach is a hybrid strategy: intelligent bulk regional redirects where context genuinely matches, plus targeted one-to-one mappings for high-value or closely related pages. I can deliver the full URL audit spreadsheet, production-ready 301 redirect rules for your stack, post-deployment crawl verification, and Search Console cleanup guidance to ensure the migration is technically sound and SEO-safe. Ready to start immediately.

Hi, I can handle the full SEO-safe 301 redirect migration for Classic Hog Roast Catering, starting with a complete crawl of the sitemap and ending with tested production redirects. I have strong experience with SEO migrations, large URL mapping, Screaming Frog/Sitebulb crawls, Apache .htaccess, NGINX redirects, WordPress URL cleanup, crawl validation, and Google Search Console checks. For this project, I would first export all URLs from the sitemap, categorize them by region and county, then create a clear old-to-new mapping spreadsheet using your keep/redirect logic while flagging any unclear URLs for review. After approval, I will implement clean permanent redirects at the correct server level, avoiding redirect chains, loops, soft 404s, and unnecessary plugin-based overhead. I will then run a second crawl to verify every legacy URL returns a single 301 hop to the intended destination and prepare a post-implementation report. You will receive the full redirect map, commented redirect rules, and verification results so the SEO value is preserved as safely as possible. Best, Justin

Hi, I can help you handle this properly and safely. I have experience with SEO migrations, URL mapping, 301 redirects, crawl audits, sitemap exports, and redirect testing. I understand that this is not just about adding redirects, but making sure every old page has the correct new destination, no SEO value is wasted, and there are no redirect chains, loops, or 404 issues. For this project, I will first crawl the sitemap and site pages, export the full list of legacy URLs, group them by location and region, then prepare a clear old to new URL mapping spreadsheet for your approval. Any pages that do not have an obvious match will be flagged separately so you can make a decision before implementation. Once the mapping is confirmed, I will prepare clean 301 redirect rules for the correct setup, whether that is htaccess or NGINX. After implementation, I will test everything with a fresh crawl to confirm each old URL redirects in one step with a proper 301 status. You will receive the full redirect spreadsheet, the production ready redirect file, and a final report showing the redirect results and any issues found. I can start straight away and make sure this is done carefully, as SEO value and clean redirects are the main priority here.

Hi, I can handle this SEO redirect migration properly in two phases. I’ll first crawl the sitemap/site using Screaming Frog or similar, export all legacy URLs, group them by location/region, and create a clear old-to-new redirect mapping spreadsheet. Any URLs without a safe equivalent will be flagged for your review instead of blindly redirecting them. After approval, I’ll prepare clean 301 redirect rules in the best layer for your setup, such as .htaccess or NGINX, then test everything with a second crawl to confirm single-hop 301s, no redirect chains, no loops, no soft 404s, and no unintended 404 pages. Deliverables will include: Full old-to-new URL mapping spreadsheet Commented production-ready redirect file Post-implementation crawl/report confirming 301 status and clean redirect behavior I’ve handled similar SEO-safe URL migrations before, so I’ll make sure the redirects preserve ranking value as much as possible and are not just bulk rules without review. I can start with the sitemap audit and mapping first, then move to deployment once approved. Thanks
