Mass rename Sharepoint files

Job Description:
We're using Sharepoint Online (on Office 365) and we have tons of files and folders that have leading spaces or trailing spaces in the filenames. This prevents the one drive client on mac to work properly (it works fine on Windows)
We're talking over 500K files spread over 30 folders)
Both folders and files have leading or trailing spaces.
I need someone to script a mass rename of the files.
