The American Petroleum Institute (API) has three publications (listed below) that describe methodologies to obtaining volumetric calibration of above ground storage tanks (AGST). My company currently provides tank inspection services to oil and gas companies. We have the capabilities and equipment to perform the field work and secure the necessary measurements to generate a volumetric calibration table (Strapping Table), but we do not have the software to perform the calculations and produce a Strapping Chart. The field readings we take are downloaded onto a thumb drive. The scope of this project is to produce a software package that will accept a down load of the field data from the thumb drive, permits some additional data input, performs all calculations, and produces a Strapping Table Report.
The software package would be an office desk top application (not taken to the field).
I can provide copies of the following API Publications and a sample of a competitor Strapping Table
1) API MPMS [url removed, login to view] Manual Strapping.
2) API MPMS [url removed, login to view] Optical Reference Line.
3) API MPMS [url removed, login to view] Optical Triangulation.
