The project consists of 2-3 stages, the first stage of it is described in the attached document and files.
This first stage consistes in creating a windows console C++ application which connects to an API, subscribes to financial market data based on settings in a redis database (NOSQL in-memory database) and stores the data in such Redis database (Redis is extremely easy to use and provides high speed/low latency reads/writes). In order to connect to market data, a proprietary API (well documented with examples and code in C++, C#, Java, Python is supplied).Since low latency and high performance code is required, instead of using traditional C++ multi threading, we will use memory structures called the LMAX Disruptor which avoid locks and provide extremely performant inter-thread communication means making the code 1) faster 2) simpler as code will run in single threads (but each thread with a specific purpose).
The reason for using C++ is performance as we need the code to run as fast as possible. Please feel free to ask me any questions, I am open to discussing alternatives (i.e. Java or C, or other software variations or any questions you may have).
I will be available thoughout the process, and can help you with testing issues, business (financial questiosn/terminology) as well as some software questions as well.
