Currently, I'm performing a project for a big company in the petrochemical industy called SABIC. They decided to move from local packaging in three different compounding plants towards a central packaging plant. Currently, SABIC has insufficient insight into the overall system performances of this Central Packaging plant and the impact of the essential components within the plant are relatively unknown. That's why they asked me to study the components affecting the productivity of the Central Packaging plant.
The essential components of the Central Packaging plant will be considered as a network of queues and these queues should be evaluated by means of simulation. Simulation obtains performance results where mathematical analytical solutions are restrictive due to its complexity. Each queueing system can be considered as a typical problem of discrete event simulation. Therefore, a discrete event simulation model should be created in order to solve the queuing network model and analyzing its performances in a efficient and feasible manner.
I'm wondering if a Java Programmer is available and has experience with the modeling technique discrete event simulation? I would like to get in toch with someone who has experience in it. Furthermore, I will upload a file of a discrete event simulation example. This example shows an M(exponential arrival times)/M(exponential service times)/1(one server) model with corresponding classes and events. However, the queuing network model of the central packaging plant is a bit more complex and therefore I need some help. See below the queuing network of this plant:
