Hi, I'm Scott. I'm a co-founder of [url removed, login to view] - using virtual reality to learn languages.
We're about to release new content for Italian and need 10 x beta testers to speak approx 600 lines of Italian into a speech recognition algorithm. You don't have to be fluent. In fact, we'd prefer learners who would consider themselves beginner or intermediate level to help iron out some kinks in our speech recognition algorithms.
You need to have a Gmail account, be proficient with Google Drive/Google Sheets and have access to Google Chrome from a laptop computer with working built-in microphone. Will not work with an iPad or mobile device. Must have a desktop PC/laptop.
The work is simply reading a line of dialogue and recording yourself speaking that line using a Speech-To-Text API, then entering this data into a Google Sheet. Watch a video explanation here: [url removed, login to view]
There are approximately 600 lines of dialogue, which will take a maximum of 3 hours so there's a set project price of NZ$25 for completing a language.
