I need you to finish the design details of a double gantry system with a telescoping square tube for Z-axis movement.
By double gantry, I mean that there are two moving pieces and each piece has its own Y and Z axis. The gantry will have minor features for food safety such as a stainless steel cover. You will need to keep these features in your design or at least keep it relatively food safe. Open linear bearings are not allowed because they cannot be used for food safety or dirty environments. You will need to choose a bearing system. I currently use Makerslide but it is a pain to assemble, so I would be happy to hear of other ideas. Maybe even designs that use UHMW or other solutions. Keep in mind that this gantry is for *industrial* usage! I need it to be low cost, easy to assemble, good for manufacturing but still durable. If needed, we can cut some corners to get results faster.
You will need to change details of the design to improve them as necessary if there are issues that you notice. I require that the cost of the system be relatively low. I use timing belts for actuating the X and Y axes. For the Z axis, I will need you to choose a lead screw and tell me exactly where to buy it.
Please expect to make some mistakes on the design and that I will ask for them to be fixed or that you try something else.
I have a partial design in sketchup already. The details in sketchup are not correct and the parts, such as aluminum extrusions are just place holders and are not really part of the design. Please delete these details and redesign it better. I like to use sketchup, but if you are good and want to use another format, let's talk about it.
I need you to finish a *buildable* version and fill in the details of the design. I have a 3D printer I can use to print out some parts and anything you design needs to have a source I can buy from at reasonable costs. I will want a Bill Of Materials at the end of the project so that I can buy everything needed and then build it. It's ok if some parts are printed on the 3D printer. In fact, I prefer this for many parts that would be good for a 3D printer.
The dimension of the gantry are: 94cm long, 83 cm wide and about 95 cm of Z movement.
