A narrative short lives or dies on pacing and the challenge with an 8–10 minute film is keeping the cut, the grade, and the sound all telling the same story through every scene, not just the loud ones. I'd work through your deliverable sequence exactly as you've laid it out: Rough cut — structure and pacing ready for your notes, no polish applied yet. Second cut — colour grade, motion graphics, and VFX all in place, with the grade locked per scene for consistency. Locked picture and mix — dialogue cleaned and synced, sound design mixed to picture, master hitting the -14 LUFS check. Final export — 4K ProRes master plus a web-optimised H.264 for online release. Working across [Premiere Pro / DaVinci Resolve] for edit and grade, [After Effects] for graphics and VFX, and [Audition / Fairlight] for sound.
