We are releasing a new product this coming monday. It's a big product -- being released in 100 cities in US, 55 different categories -- with pretty substantial backing.
We're looking for a PR person who wants to do a very small initial job, submitting our "story pitch" to blogs and magazines -- Techcrunch, USA today, and more important, local city newspapers like Chicago Tribune, or local city blogs like The Chicago Blog of the equivalent in other cities. Our goal is to get press coverage.
We'll be offering to create a special version of our product for bloggers and/or running a contest to get local city residents to design the logo for their city.
We're looking for a PR person who will submit this idea to as many blogs and newspapers as possible. Build up a list of target news outlets, submit to those targets via email or "tip line" contact pages. Use the email of our founder and he will respond to reporters. We will supply you with the written "pitch" which is a paragraph or so, and you customize (changing name of city for example) and submit to the local blogs.
This is a tiny project right now...we are a startup... but based on our success on Monday, yes we are looking for a part-time or full-time regular PR/marketing person. We have hired other workers via this route and it's been successful. This venture is mostly marketing so we'll need a lot of it in the future.
In your bid please point us to specific examples of PR/marketing work you've done in the past.
