 So how many reductions do you need in total? 5? and it goes from 10:1 to 1:1? what about the space limits? max diameter of the ring gear which governs the size of the housing? what about the material? like cast iron for housing or aluminium, ....? spur gears or helical? or up to the designer? whats are power, torque, speed? there are the most important parameters for a gearbox. bearings I assume would be roller bearings... I have previously design gearboxes (not many) but quite familiar (all static, fatigue, durability, surface stress calculations), mounting, ...
