The aim of the project is to design a mooring buoy that support Oil vessels can tie to when on standby
hence reducing engine running time.
The successful freelancer shall design mooring system that can withstand the vessel mooring and waves of the sea which are the forces that can make the mooring system fail.
Also, their engineering design shall help to generate MTO for the mooring buoy system construction.
The MTO shall help to identify the following:
1. The tonnage of the buoys to fit purpose
2. The sizes of the chains to fit purpose (Light and Heavy chain)
3. The sizes and tonnage of the swivel shackles for the chains to fit purpose
4. The sizes of other shackles
5. The size and tonnage of the anchor
6. Other accessories to complete mooring buoy arrangement.
