I’m building a concise training module to sharpen the customer-facing skills of entry-level food-and-beverage staff who welcome guests, take orders, and serve dishes or drinks. The heart of the program is customer service, with a laser focus on the taking-orders-and-serving stage and, above all, on effective communication with guests. The content needs to walk young professionals through every interaction point—from greeting the table and confirming menu choices to handling special requests—while weaving in product knowledge, grooming standards, and correct use of chinaware and glassware. I’d like each section to blend clear theory with practical exercises so that learners can immediately apply what they’ve practised on the floor. Deliverables I’ll require: • A structured lesson plan broken into short sessions (ideally 45–60 minutes each) • Role-play scripts and dialogue examples that highlight language, body language, and tone • Visual job aids (table-side order-taking flowchart, tray-carrying tips, glassware quick guide) • A brief assessment checklist managers can use to observe and coach performance The module can be delivered in PowerPoint, Google Slides, or an interactive PDF—whatever you’re most comfortable with, as long as it’s easy for supervisors to adapt. Clear, simple English is essential; the team’s first language may not be English, so plain wording and real-world examples matter more than academic jargon. Once the material is in place, I’ll review it with a pilot group, so the last piece I’ll need is a one-page feedback form to capture learner input for future tweaks. With these assets, our new hires will step onto the floor ready to impress guests from the very first “Good evening.”
