Hi, My name is Avgi Platanidi and I have been working as an English-Greek freelance translator, subtitler and transcriber for private projects, companies and established linguistic services for 10 years. I studied Greek and Education Psychology at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, holding a degree in Philosophy, Education and Psychology, with a major in Psychology. This degree provided me with the professional skills and certification for teaching Greek and Literature in Secondary Education as well as valuable knowledge in Psychology and Philosophy. I hold a certificate of Proficiency in English from the University of Michigan and I am a fluent speaker, due to my half-English parentage. I am proficient at using various CAT tools if required and last year, I successfully completed the intensive multi-module Certified Translation Expert course at EL Academy, as I consider continuous learning and advancement as a necessity, especially in this line of work. I am efficient and thorough, always striving to convey the meaning depending on the targeted audience, aim, cultural diversity and local perception. I meet all of my deadlines and, above all, I enjoy and love what I do.
