My PHP-based reverse proxy used to mirror an external domain onto ours while keeping sessions alive through cookies. A few days ago it suddenly began throwing an “NGINX configuration error”, and every attempt to download proxied files now fails as well. Your task is to hunt down the root cause, correct the NGINX directives, and restore normal proxy behaviour—including successful file downloads and intact session handling. Deliverables • Diagnose and document the exact misconfiguration causing the NGINX error • Update or replace the faulty directives and reload NGINX safely • Prove that proxied pages load correctly, cookies persist across requests, and files of any size download without corruption I can provide the current [login to view URL], site-specific vhost file, and the proxy script as soon as we start. SSH access is available. Please bring solid NGINX, reverse-proxy, and PHP troubleshooting experience so we can wrap this up quickly.
