I need a "color inverter" for windows. For reference, check the built in "magnifier" software (Programs -> Accesories --> Accesibility --> Magnifier). There is an "invert colors" option in magnifier.
The inverter software I want should run in background (a single click button somewhere in taskbar to invert/un-invert colors). It should run continuously, without affecting normal mouse or keyboard operations.
It should be optimized for efficiency (use hardware acceleration if possible, and it should not consume high CPU/memory).
The reason I want is to reduce eye-strain. There is another free software which does what I want, but doesn't support my graphics card :(. Mine is an office machine so I cant change graphics card, hence want someone to develop a robust software which will work on main version of windows (XP/Vista/7) and also support most graphics card.
To test the functionality with the free software: Search for "Power Strip Download" in Google. In Powere strip, selec "color profiles" --> Invert colors. Also check the box "Write directly to pallete DAC. Most likely it will work on your machine (works on my home laptop).
[My graphics card information - on which power strip does not work - I am attaching in a file].
Actually, one programmer solved my problem - he told me how to do it using my NVidia control panel (I think he happened to have same graphics card as mine).
I am now thinking of actually having a generic utility for windows, which should be able to do the following:
1) Change Saturation (color), all the way to 0 (grayscale display)
2) Do color inversion separately.
3) Do magnification on demand. (windows magnifier doesnt have completely customizable magnifier window/controls).
I know many graphics card these days might come with features like these, but some dont have one or all of them. I am looking for a generic software that would work on windows irrespective of graphics card.
