Word-template which writes and reads.
The scenario is this: In an office several different people work on the same Word document (WD) sequetialy. That means first person opens the WD. Writes some facts, saves and closes it. On another computer someone else opens the same WD and edits it some more. This goes on again and again on different places.
So they cannot use a "traditional" template where they get a form, enters some info and clicks OK. This will not work. The template also needs to read the information from the [url removed, login to view] they edit text in the WD which was from the form - then this text should come up in the form when they open the document. That way - all changes done by anyone will be reflected in the form and they can look at them or change them again.
I do not have a full idea of how to solve this. It will be possible to create some rules and limitations (which the customer will have to accept). Maybe you need to have some controll-carachters to secure that you read and write the correct blocks of text? But they will need to be inviseble, not cause problem when copying the text to another program. I do not know - have a better idea?
I do not need you to write to me and tell me to read your resume. I need a Word Template with a form with 1 textbox and I need to see that I can read text from the WD and write to it.
There are about 40-50 variables. And they can be checkboxes (choose 1 of 4 texts), texts, numbers. There can also be dropdownboxes. There will for sure be a dropdownbox with contacts. The contacts are in an Excel-sheet.
The variables needs to be seperated with TABs. So all the controls can be grouped.
I first need to present a price for this to my client. So I have not gotten all the variables from him yet. Maybe he will say it is to costly?
So put 2-3 weeks development-time.
