Required an Excel Macro that can perform an "If Then Else" function in an Excel spreadsheet.
The Macro needs to read a range of cells & make a choice based on the contents. The results of the decision tree should be delivered to another range of cells. The data needs to be set up in cells within the same sheet or referenced from another sheet.
For instance a range of cells contains names, classes have to be assigned based on those names. For 15 names there would be 15 cells containing the name data. The Macro would then scan the cells defined in another cell containing the range (eg the macro would read cells "E1 : E45" based on defined data in cell G1 for example). The results would be written to another range of cells also defined in a cell (eg the Macro would write the results in cells "F5 : F50" based on data defined in, say, H1). The valid results need to be defined in another range of cells (eg "Fred Smith:Room 2", "Anne Smith:Room 5" etc). There needs to be a back stop so that undefined results can be prevented from leading to an error (eg the "Else" result would be a definable value such as "Unknown") & should also be a value set up in a cell that can be easily defined.
I'll attach an example file in a littel time to show excatly what is needed.
